I have been trying to place whereabouts on Newbridge Lane the Newbridge Inn and Foxley Oaks colliery would be. There is nothing left of either on Newbridge Lane now but I think these photos are fairly close to the area. The first photo shows roughly where the colliery would be.
No 134 Newbridge lane was built on the end of the pit buildings.we have an old railway line in our garden.An air shaft for the pit is filled in and fenced in the field off Newbridge Lane.
ReplyDeleteThe Inn was the last old house on the right hand side of Newbridge, towards the canal,just before the new builds.
